Would you like to be a buddy for exchange students? Join Buddy Program – Become an Ambassador

Recruiting current students to assist exchange students from abroad to adapt to the campus environment and understand Taiwan more quickly, and increase mutual interaction. It is a good opportunity to understand foreign cultures, conduct language exchanges, and make friends from different countries!

We hope that students who participate in the Buddy Program will have a certain degree of enthusiasm for helping overseas students, and are willing to continue to communicate with overseas students and provide appropriate assistance. Also willing to introduce them to the campus and Taiwan, representing the image of Taiwan and the school.

In the 111-2 semester, our school will have exchange students from Japan and Germany. Students who are willing to join the Buddy Program are welcome. Don’t miss it!

【International Buddy Program】

What is the Buddy Program?

Goals of the Program In order to provide a friendly campus environment for short-term exchange students and students who improve their qualification in our school, help them adapt to campus life and integrate into local culture, and create more language learning opportunities and cultural exchange platforms for our students, thereby expanding their international vision.

Why join the Buddy Program?

    1. You can make friends from different countries.
    2. Improve language skills and have activity experience to prepare for going abroad in the future.
    3. Cultural exchanges and understanding of foreign cultures.
    4. Understand the problems you will face in a foreign country.

 

What are the requirements for the Ambassador?

    1. All undergraduate and graduate students of our school can apply.
    2. Good communication skills in English or other foreign languages ​​(Japanese).
    3. Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for service.
    4. Familiar with the campus and surrounding resources.
    5. Be sensitive to the problems that exchange students in Taiwan may encounter, and be able to assist exchange students in Taiwan to solve problems.
    6. Able to communicate effectively with individual and group exchange students in Taiwan.

What will an Ambassador do?

    1. Assist exchange students in settling in dormitories, registering and paying fees.
    2. Assist in using the course selection system to select courses, ican system, and campus email.
    3. Introduce campus life and resources, and provide exchange students with daily assistance and consultation in a timely manner.
    4. Conduct language exchange with exchange students.
    5. Provide support to alleviate the anxiety and uneasiness that exchange students may have during their stay in Taiwan.
    6. Encourage participation in various activities and cooperate in cultural exchange activities.
    7. Other matters that help exchange students adapt to life and studies.

What The Office of International Affairs will expect from you as an Ambassador?

The Office of International Affairs will comprehensively consider language ability, department majors, overseas exchange experience and other factors to arrange international study partners.

How many Ambassadors do we need?

Three in total.

The Office of International Affairs will contact students and arrange online interviews during the winter vacation.

Rights and Obligations

Right:

    1. The international student partner who has excellent performance will apply for an award and issue an international student partner service certificate every semester in accordance with the school’s regulations.
    2. When the Office of International Affairs handles exchange students, overseas volunteers and other international exchange activities, the service certificate and award certificate of the international student partner can be listed as extra points.

Obligations:

    1. International student partners should take the initiative to implement service projects and cooperate with the Office of International Affairs to assist exchange students in related activities and matters.
    2. The international student partner is a voluntary service and does not provide any incentives or work-study funds.
    3. After the service is over, the international student partner should submit the student partner experience form to the Office of International Affairs.
