Department of Human Development and Psychology

Bachelor’s Degree

Department Introduction

The department bases its curriculum on anthropology and psychology. We expect students to acquire both macroscopic and microscopic views in their understanding of incidents or issues, and come up with feasible plans. Accordingly, we assist students in gaining skills and knowledge in anthropology and psychology, and prepare them to provide professional services with a humanistic spirit.

The department attends to students’ needs by offering the Fundamental Program in Human Development, Anthropology Program, and Psychology Program, and each program has its unique features. We inspire students to put what they have learned into action, and encourage them to participate in community services, during their leisure times, to enhance their humanistic care and altruism.

A considerable proportion of our students participate in service, art, or sports-related clubs or organization, on or off-campus, and many of them take administrative duties in these clubs or organizations. In addition, many students choose to serve the needy in Taiwan or overseas; their services include:

    • Accompanying elementary school students in remote rural areas.
    • Attending to the needs of vocational high school students from underprivileged families.
    • Serving the needy overseas during the summer break.

Future Career

Our students have a variety of career choices.

Pursue advanced studies:

    • Psychology:

Students can choose clinical psychology, counseling psychology, fundamental psychology, business psychology, human resources, etc.

    • Anthropology:

Students may consider cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, genetic anthropology, ecological anthropology, ethnic relations, special populations studies, etc.
