Department Introduction
1. Basic and professional courses
The department provides introductory microbiology, immunology, pathology, and hematology courses.
The department offers numerous courses to enhance students’ clinical skills and professional knowledge. These are clinical microscopy, physiology, serology, microbiology, biochemistry, and clinical hematology.
Undergraduate students need to take internship training in their senior year, where they can utilize what they learned in practical applications.
Elective courses include biotechnology, mass spectrometry, analytical toxicology, molecular diagnosis, human genetics, and chromosome abnormality analysis.
2. Emphasis on English proficiency
The department emphasizes English proficiency by offering English conversation and other courses to improve students’ English communication and other language skills.
3. Emphasis on proficiency in IT applications
Information technology is commonplace in analytical instruments, data processing, and laboratory management; the department provides courses in the first year that teach students computer principles and applications.
4. Emphasis on molecular and cellular biology
Molecular biotechnology is the focus of laboratory sciences. Students will take molecular and cellular biology courses in their sophomore year and biotechnology courses in their junior or senior year. They will apply their laboratory skills to clinical chemistry, microbiology, and serology.
