Department Introduction

  1. Tzu Chi Foundation provides global resources and enables the     department to offer students the diverse learning opportunities listed below:

(1) Provides well-equipped teaching wards and works with partner institutions to offer internship training:

    • Makes simulation wards available and builds facilities associated with each medical specialty. 
    • Collaborates with Tzu Chi Hospitals around Taiwan for providing internship training programs.

(2) Employs various teaching approaches listed below to ensure that students acquire professionalism and humanism needed for providing nursing care:

    •  Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
    •  Standardized Patient Program
    •  Team-Based Learning (TBL)
    •  Inter-professional Education
    •  Concept Mapping
    •  Learning with Human Figures 
    •  Silent Mentor Program

2. Providing students service-learning opportunities for serving the needy in Taiwan or overseas, to inspire their filial piety and benevolence, and cultivate their spirit of caring for the sick with compassion.

3. Offering international exchange programs for students to broaden their global perspectives.

4.For years, the students’ passing rates of taking national licensure examinations and alumni employment rates have been greater than 90 percent. 

Future Career

Pursue advanced studies:

    1. Undergraduate students can pursue their master’s studies in nursing in Taiwan or overseas.
    2. Master’s students can choose to pursue their doctoral programs at Tzu Chi University or elsewhere. 

Seek Employment:

Students can work in nursing care at Tzu Chi hospitals located in Hualien, Taipei, Taichung, Dalin, Yuli, Guanshan, and Douliu. Students can also work for other healthcare institutions in Taiwan or overseas. Almost all of our new graduates are employed by healthcare institutions, and their employers welcome and highly recognize the performances of our alumni.

    ․Level A2 or above of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign
    Language (TOCFL);
    ․Level 4 or above of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK); or
    ․Level A2 or above of the Common European Framework
    of Reference for Language (CEFR).
