Department Introduction

Cherishing the University’s motto of “kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity,” the department prepares students to become physical therapy professionals who will attend to patients’ needs with humanism and professionalism. In addition, the department inspires students to be willing to carry out health promotion and continue their lifelong learning

Future Career

Pursue advanced studies

Students have a wide range of choices. They can choose to study doctoral programs in physical therapy, neuroscience, medical engineering, public health, or basic medicine. They can also consider occupational medicine, environmental medicine, sports and performance, kinesiology, or health industry management.

 

Seek employment

Students have many job selections. They can work as schoolteachers, physical therapists in healthcare institutions, long-term care institutions, educational institutions, or other institutions. They may start their own practice. They can also do R&D or marketing work for the institutions involving physical therapy-related treatment and assistive equipment, conduct clinical or kinesiology research, become athletic trainers, or work as personal trainers.

  • Autobiography in Chinese or English. (Introduction of yourself, motivation of study, and the experience in research should be included)

(Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Test of English for International Communication(TOEIC) or other equivalent certificate for English; Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) or other equivalent certificate for Chinese)
  • Other documents pertinent to the application
  • Chinese proficiency test results within 2 years. Test of
    Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) or other equivalent
    certificate for Chinese:
    ․Level A2 of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language
    (TOCFL);
    ․Level 4 of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK); or
    ․Level A2 of the Common European Framework of
    Reference for Language (CEFR).
